Had a great time at Merlin! The location near Bakırköy Marmaray station really made exploring Istanbul a breeze. Breakfast was solid and got my day started right. a lovely stay!

The hotel had significant cleanliness issues with old and torn towels provided, which was not appropriate for a four-star status. There was a notable lack of warmth in the environment, particularly in the breakfast area where it felt quite chilly, making it less inviting. my experience was marred by a long wait for necessary items, like blankets, and their air conditioning was non-functional in the first room, leading to an inconvenient switch back to an older part of the hotel.

this hotel was so terribly average, the lack of sound insulation, is simply unacceptable. also, the abruptness of the receptionist while I was trying to enjoy my breakfast was shocking! and to top it off, I certainly expected some nice complimentary gesture for my troubles but received absolutely nothing. I almost wanted to give a good review, but just couldn’t.

Solo traveler should consider
The staff here are amazing,,, they helped me when my laptop burned down in my room and had nothing but a calm response for my panic. Despite the issues I faced during check out, the owner even promised to send me explanations, which was rather sweet of him.
It wasn’t inexpensive,,, but still manageable for the services offered.

The location near the Bakırköy metro station makes getting around easy, and I appreciated the friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to assist. Breakfast was decent, though some variety would be nice. the shower temperature fluctuated a lot, which was frustrating.
